Although it's only evening, but there were a few thing that got my mind working.....
As long as it's not done, i will always worry about my 'APW'. I predict that in the future, my blogs will be flooded with titles like APW I, APW II... so on and so forth....... APW will be my obsession until the day it's finally submitted, and i have a hunch that I wont be satisfied with the final result.
I dont know since when, but I came up with a idea that i should never be satisfied with my work. Not to say i doubt my work, but belief that it can always be better. This is because I belief that mankind can never achieve perfection. Because of this belief, it strives me even more to strive for perfection, as perfection it self mirrors GOD.
Enough of that non-sense..., as usual i woke up thinking, what should i be doing for my additional piece of work!!!! I really wanted to work on it, but I so happened to woke up at 12 in the noon.... i had plenty of work that were higher in my priority list. But nonetheless i finished all my task and it's now (about 20 minutes ago before i had something i need to say) time to face my new enemy APW!!! Before i could even start, i received an email that made me doubt my abilities again.
Hello everyone,
Hope you all are enjoying the holidays.
Here is a message from Malini Bose in year 2, this is regarding the additional piece of work. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------
Hey Guys!
My name is Malini Bose and I am a Year 2 student.
For my additional piece of work assignment, I am attempting to make a survival guide for pre-clinical medical students at monash sunway, aimed at the new freshmen that come in every year. It'll be filled with study tips and resources, along with many other awesome things to help them along their way. It would be really fantastic if any one of you currently in Year 1, 2, 3, would be willing to send me some of your tips and advice that you would give to the newbies. If what you say is awesome enough, you'll be quoted in my "book" =D It can be about absolutely anything like - how to study for certain subjects, the best books to use for certain subjects, what you wish you knew when you were in year 1 and 2, how do you de-stress during exam time, etc. If there are any other sections you'd like me to add into this project of mine let me know also.
Year 1s - I know you've only been around for 1 semester, but since you're still the newest and freshest medical students, I'm sure anything you say will be quite valid :D Take a trip down memory lane :P What did you want to know most about the course, and in terms of studying and BEING a medical student?
If you are willing to send me anything, just reply at malinibose1@hotmail.com . It would be great if i could get most of your replies by 1st of July.
Thanks so much :)
Malini ;)
P.S. Not everything has to be absolutely serious - It's always refreshing to have light-hearted and humorous tips also :)
WHAT!!! ARE U SERIOUS!!!
how can any possible idea that I come up with beat this?? are u freaking serious??
----above is another prove of how i will never be at par with these bunch of great medical ppl ----
Another insightful event was just little ol' me typing a letter to Sri KL's principal. Once i was done typing, i had to cc to everyone for reassurance that i typed the right thing.... In what light should i see this as?? Is it me being a perfectionist or is it my low self-esteem issue arising from the dead once again.... This got me to google, finding for a relationship between perfectionism and self-esteem. Lo and behold! There was!!!
A perfectionist is someone who sets extremely high standards then expect to achieve them. Because those standards are far from being achievable the perfectionist usually ends up lacking self confidence. Based on that way of thinking, the perfectionist feels very ashamed when he makes a mistake and this causes more damage to his self confidence.
What should i make of this... should i not strive to do the best?? NO NO... i will not allow myself that thinking! I will do my best regardless of what people say, as i take pride in everything i do..... do i detect a hint of narcissism?? hahaha......
